Visit to ACS Hillingdon

We had the pleasure of visiting ACS Hillingdon’s agent’s day recently. 

The school is well placed about 5 minute drive from the Hillingdon tube station, making it easily assessable to families in West London. 

They also provide over 40 bus routes daily from all over west London and further into the country. 

The school has American roots, and now offers IB curriculum as well as: Advanced Placement (AP) and Careers Programme (CP), Global Citizen Diploma, and High School Diploma. 

About 600 children aged 4-18 attend full time day school, representing over 50 nationalities. The school has an impressive 11 acre campus and they also have off-site playing fields, use of a pool, and they take advantage of other local facilities. 

The original school building was a beautiful hunting lodge of a London banker, built in the 1860s. In the original dinning room, portraits of the original owner’s hunting dogs adorn the ceiling rosettes. 

There is a 4G field for outdoor games, play times and sports practice, with a wooden playground for the younger children. 

Lunch time and after-school times boast a large range of clubs including robotics, law society, and model UN. 

The younger years go to forest school on the grounds.

A flexible STEAM room has whiteboards on all the walls, bean bag chairs, and moveable furniture to allow for room to create and use robotics. 

The school offers specialist teachers to work with children with a range of learning needs. This is across the entire time children attend the school. 

Children are taught strategies to support with their learning needs and styles.
