We visited ACS International School, Egham
It was a pleasure to visit the Egham campus of the renowned ACS schools group. Set in rolling country, within easy reach of Heathrow and London and close to the Berkshire and Surrey towns of Ascot, Virginia Water, Egham and Windsor, this country house-turned international school, is an inspiring environment for learning.
Opened in 1995, the pupil body consists of many nationalities, from all over the world but also a lot of British pupils whose parents value the varied and broad curriculum on offer. Pupils follow the International Baccalaureate (IB), making the curriculum portable and offering continuity for internationally-mobile families who might move around every 2-3 years.
The American-style and ethos in line with its founding emphasis in 1995, with no uniform apart from the striking Jaguars sports identity which really emphasised their great school spirit.
Creativity is imbued in every part of the school and curriculum, with lots of crossover learning and incorporation of different subjects into project work.
It was also useful to meet lots of people in the relocation and family office business and to talk to them about how they help their families. We work with relocation and family offices to help them with the very specialised SEND requirements of moving or starting a new school with a child who has a Special Educational Need.
