This Just in: Check out what Natalie has to say as a contributor at MYBABA for mamas and papas in the know!

Natalie Verbo founded Firefly Education London after thinking about how parents, schools and teachers in the SEN sector were not being well-served by the established agencies and systems.   She wanted to use her experience of Early Years and Special Education to provide something specifically aimed at children and families with complex needs, rather than leaving parents and schools to navigate their way through a system that seems to be focused solely on mainstream education with Special Needs as an afterthought.

Natalie is an American-trained special and primary education teacher with a variety of experience teaching both mainstream and special needs children ranging in age from 12 months to 19 years.

Her experience spans nursery, primary and secondary schools in both the United States and the United Kingdom. She has taught from the early years, one to one maths in primary schools, life skills classes in high schools, and as a private teacher in a school to a key stage one autism class.

She has worked in private homes and in the wider community within the United Kingdom with parents and children, developing social skills, creating behavioural plans, aiding in toilet training, developing food programs, academic tutoring and teaching multi-sensory learning.  She feels understanding your child or pupil is vital to overcoming obstacles such has behavioral difficulties or educational roadblocks.

It was in the classrooms, throughout the years, that parents confided their frustrations; they shared their frustrations about how to begin potty training when the time arrived, how to deal with difficult behaviour, difficulty in recognizing the signs that occupational or speech specialists were needed and where to find them.

Firefly Education works with qualified tutors who are carefully selected to meet the needs of each individual child. All of our tutors have experience working in homes, schools, and community settings with children with special needs.

We love to meet new people and visit new schools to learn how we can help.  We look forward to meeting you soon.
